In the region of the Utrecht Hill Ridge are the Soester Dunes, the largest sand drift area in the province of Utrecht. This area includes both the Lange Duinen and the Korte Duinen. It is an excellent location for walks, bike rides and to play with your children or dog. Experience the special nature of the Soesterduinen!

Klein Zwitserland concerns a historic forest area of approximately 36 hectares, located south of the city center. It is located on the southwestern slope of the Amersfoortse Berg. This forest was created in the last decades of the 19th century. Before that time, the area was deforested by human activity, creating vast and uninhabitable moors.

Schovenhorst Estate

Schovenhorst Estate, located in Putten on the Veluwe, was established in 1848. The estate consists of five different tree gardens: the Small Pinetum, the Large Pinetum, the Josina Park, the Arboretum and the Three Continents Forest, which was created in 1967. These gardens house an extensive collection of conifers native to areas with temperate climates. This collection is part of the National Plant Collection, which is spread across several botanical gardens in the Netherlands.
